Want to get an international experience and learn how to work problem- and project based in a group focused on Mechanical Engineering subjects? Then join our Product Development and Design of Mechanical Equipment short term exchange programme.Here is what to expect:
- Experience interdisciplinary project work with different elements and complexity of Mechanical Engineering subjects
- Be introduced to problem- and project-oriented work, along with project methodology and -management
- Gain competences within applied methods and tools in product development
- Develop skills to systematically solve problems in collaboration with your project group
- Learn to plan and document the project process and results in a technical report
- Define and analyse a problem, then use idea generating tools to develop a mechanical equipment
- Design and dimension a product, including material selection and manufacturing technologies
- Have fun with your project group developing your own mechanical equipment
Admission
The short term exchange programme is founded in VIA's Civil Engineering bachelor's degree programme, but is open to all students is the engineering or business fields.Prerequisites for joining the course:
- Basic knowledge within statistics, strength theory and dynamics
- Understanding of various manufacturing technologies and engineering materials
- Knowledge within 3D CAD software
- Skilled in creating technical drawings
- Ability to illustrate machine elements according to standards
- Basic knowledge within dimensioning and machine design
