Fashion Design is an area of specialisation within the Academy Profession (AP) Degree programme in Design, Technology & Business.
The course programme centres on women’s wear and offers you a basic understanding of the design profession as well as applied theories and methods within the fashion and lifestyle sector. You will gain basic design skills as well as insight into the entire design process, from the first sketches to production. You will learn about target groups, trends and tendencies, and how to navigate in the fashion industry. You will learn to take a position on existing brands, and to create a flow in your collection that matches the identity of a brand.
All sketches are done by hand but you are also taught Adobe’s Graphic Design tools so that you can work out a presentation of your collection.
With an AP degree in Fashion Design, you will get to work in teams with other designers as well as pattern designers, marketing professionals and web managers from the lifestyle and fashion sectors. The course will introduce you to the many different professions you will encounter once you finish your education.
Career opportunities:
With an AP degree specialising in Fashion Design you have the chance to work as an assistant within the fashion and lifestyle sector. On the basis of the designer’s premade sketches your job is to assist in developing the designer’s collection. For instance, you compile the right materials for the collection and work out a graphical presentation which is important for the production of the clothing.
Most of our AP degree graduates choose to do a BA top-up which gives you access to a wider range of career prospects.

From a narrow focus on the art and craft of comics, Graphic Storytelling gradually expands into neighboring fields, allowing for exploration and specialisation.
The first year is all about the fundamentals of comics, from various approaches to drawing and story to digital and traditional tools. We furthermore focus on clarity in visual storytelling and short narratives, culminating in a collaborative anthology magazine project.
In the second year, we work with illustration for books, magazines, and newspapers, as well as world-building and IP generation. Then we explore a range of different storytelling genres and methods, culminating in a graphic novel pitch.
The third year focuses on fields outside of comics, including background design, storyboarding, and video games. Furthermore, you will be introduced to interactive comics and start to create your professional portfolio. Then we deepen into more advanced sequential storytelling, including advanced writing techniques.
In the final year, you have your internship and begin your Bachelor project where you create original comics, illustrated books or story bibles.

Apart from manual treatment the distinctive subjects are:
- Free movement and training of body consciousness

- Psychomotor therapy directed towards certain segments e. g. children, elderly, disabled or people with mental illnesses
