Description 

The tourism and hospitality industry is transforming massively towards a more sustainable business model. You will learn to design data-driven transformations for tourism companies by combining the subject areas of sustainable management. You will engage in collaborative projects by business partners, to understand and to tackle the grand challenges of sustainable development. You will gain a deep understanding of the consumers of this specific market. 

With its unique and exclusive format, CBS’ 1-Year Master of Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management offers a programme that fully engages with sustainable and digital transformations. Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management has been developed in dialogue with representatives from Danish travel trade, hospitality and tourism organisations, and its educational design focuses on addressing present managerial concerns with solid methodological approaches and research-driven solutions.

Career Opportunities 

Graduates have in-depth knowledge of  China and the EU from both an academic, a cultural and a personal point of view. They are able to identify problems in this cross-field and, using social science methods combined with analysis and information retrieval tools, they can create innovative solutions. 
In addition to this, graduates have hands-on experience with Chinese language and culture, and with intercultural cooperation.

About the degree 

Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management is a one-year master’s programme that is divided into four quarters. There are five mandatory courses in the first semester, followed by another mandatory course, two elective specializations and a project thesis in the second.

For an optimal competence development regarding data-driven sustainable transformation of tourism companies, Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management is designed by a unique pedagogical approach that combines business, consumer, and digital aspects in one education. There is a certain degree of progression between the courses in the first and second semester. Student’s analytical skills established during the data hackathon-project will be further developed in the Research Design and Data Curation module.

You are qualified for admission to the programme if you:
  • Fulfil the language requirement by the application deadline
  • Fulfil the academic requirements
  • Have a bachelor’s degree (or will by study start)
