Master (2 years) of Science in Digital Media Engineering, 120 ECTSEngineering Mathematics, natural- and computer science
|Institution||Technical University of Denmark (DTU)|
|Tuition per term (Non-EU/EAA/CH)||6750 EUR|
DescriptionThe rapid expansion of digital media technologies is constantly generating new types of applications. Consider how YouTube online videos, Spotify streaming of music, smartphone apps built on top of Google Maps, microblogs Twitter messages, user generated content in Wikipedia or Facebook social media have all transformed our lives dramatically within only a few years. Likewise, what used to be called media companies are now rather technological solutions operating across multiple platforms, which enable sharing of digital media content as well as analysis of user behaviour based on the large amounts of data that is being generated.
Within this area characterized by continuous change there is a need for engineers who will not be constrained by shifting technologies, but rather have attained strong technical competences for developing novel types of interaction between people and software—reflected in e.g. game design, personalization of media content, or smartphone apps which based on sensors are able to model how we perceive the world around us.
Career OpportunitiesDuring the master's programme you will get a deep understanding of both technical and business aspects of digital media engineering, in order to provide a solid foundation for creating your own start-up company, work in IT consultancy, or as an engineer in companies focused on computer graphics and animation, development of apps for smartphones and tablets, analysis of 'big data' generated from web media and social networks, as well as user experience design related to digital media engineering.
