Description
In recent years, wind energy has become an important source of electricity production, and since wind energy contributes to reducing CO2 emissions, this is regarded as a very positive trend. Wind energy is expected to cover 12 per cent of the global power consumption in 2020, with the number of employees in the wind industry reaching two million. In Denmark, wind energy already constitutes more than 30 per cent of the total energy production, but is expected to increase over the next years.DTU has been involved in research and education since the 1970s, offering an MSc wind energy programme since 2002.
Lecturers on the Wind Energy programme are elite researchers from DTU specializing in wind energy, as well as experts and engineers from the wind turbine industry. You will gain access to state-of-the-art research and technology as well as extensive knowledge of aerodynamics, aeroelasticity, mechanics, grid connection, and electrical engineering. The MSc is a two-year graduate programme with a workload of 120 ECTS credit points.
