A corps of mentors are ready to provide guidance to biotech students in Kalundborg
The purpose of the corps is to retain international students in Denmark once they complete their studies while also contributing to a stimulating and dynamic environment for the students. The help is coming from the local business community, where mentors are signing up on a voluntary basis.
One of them is Jens Henrik Mose, who works at Novo Nordisk. To him mentoring is an excellent opportunity to help and provide guidance:
“I was a tutor while studying myself, and I enjoy helping, giving advice, and passing on experiences. So when I heard about this I saw an opportunity to do it again. I have a drive to support a new student, for example, to avoid that they drop out of the programme,”
Jens’ mentee is Silvana Lazzeri. She is an international student from Italy in her third semester. She had no doubts about wanting to get a mentor:
“When you come from another country to Denmark and Kalundborg, you have so many questions that are difficult to find answers to. That goes for everyday life but definitely also in my studies.”
