About the Degree

Your opportunities: All students must apply to the Danish Teacher Education program that authorizes you to teach in the Danish primary and lower secondary schools. Once you are enrolled, you have two options for pursuing an international profile:
  1. You can take individual modules in English from the honour’s degree. It will be noted on your diploma that you have obtained intercultural competences from these modules. The rest of your classes will be in Danish.
  2. You can apply to complete the full honour’s degree as part of your Danish Teacher Education degree.

The general admission requirements for international students include one of the following international certificates:
  • A Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate (STX, HF, HHX, HTX, EUX, GIF)
  • The Danish/French Baccalauréat (DFB)
  • The European Baccalaureate (EB)
  • The International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • The Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB)
  • Another foreign qualifying examination certificate that can be equated with a Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate.

If your average is below 7.0 on Danish grade scale or if the average is unknown or your average cannot be converted to the Danish grade scale or you get a positive individual competence assessment, you must participate in an interview to qualify for admission to the program. If you are to attend an interview you will receive an e-mail with a link to our booking system where you can book an interview. You will receive the e-mail after we have assessed your application.

Other basis for admission

If you do not meet the official admission requirements but have other qualifications that can be considered as equivalent, you can apply for admission with special permission through individual competence assessment.

We recommend that you attach a curriculum vitae (CV) to your application. Do not attach a motivated application letter to your application.

The selection criteria for The International Honours Degree in Teaching is:
  • English corresponding to Danish A-level
