Description
With a Master’s degree in Risk and Safety Management you will be able to help both public and private companies to create an overview of their safety and risks and to help them reach their goals within these fields.Through the Master’s programme you will gain knowledge about basic probability theory and collection of data within risk analysis and the social conditions that are relevant to risk control. Furthermore, you will be presented with the theoretical methods and strategies that are used in risk perception and -communication.
During your education you will learn how to apply risk analysis and simulations to identify the crisis situations and risks that can occur when a project is carried out in a company. You will learn to work out plans to handle projects and to gain insight into implementation methods and ways to carry out routine tests and reporting.
Career Opportunities
With a Master’s degree in Risk and Safety Management your future career might be in offshore industry, the civil engineering sector, the transport sector, or the public sector. You can work as for instance:- a risk analyst,
- an environmental coordinator,
- an engineer or
- a project manager
In connection with operations, you will be able to set up possible crisis scenarios and work out plans for coping with such situations.
Moreover, you will be able to work with preparation and implementation of procedures for managing safety and health in risky operations.

Admission
Admission to the Master of Science and Technology in Risk and Safety Management presupposes one of the following Bachelor´s degrees:- BSc degree in Chemistry
- BSc in Structural and Civil Engineering
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering
- BSc in Public Health Science
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics
- Bachelor of Architechtural Technology and Construction Management
In addition, documentation will be required to verify that your proficiency in English is at an acceptable level.
