Description

Our Wind Energy Master programme is a web-based education with a broad academic profile. The programme covers all essential aspects of wind energy engineering based on the research activities taking place at DTU Wind Energy. This one-year master's programme has a vocational focus and provides you with the practical skills and knowledge needed in the private and public wind energy sectors.

This online master is aimed towards individuals who are already affiliated with the wind energy industry, such as developers and manufacturers, consultants, environmental agencies, shipping industry etc. Applicants must have a least two years of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience could be, but is not limited to:
  • The wind energy industry
  • Oil and gas companies
  • Shipping companies
  • Companies performing environmental assessments
  • Public agencies with responsibilities related to engineering and natural sciences.
A screening process will take place upon registration to ensure that participants are qualified to enter the programme.

Part-Time Studies

The programme is designed as a part-time programme within a two-year period. It corresponds to one year of full-time study but is spread over two years to accommodate participants doing the programme concurrently with having a full-time job.

Even though it is an online Master’s programme, participants will be required to attend the programme physically a couple of times, for example in connection with the defence of the final project.

Career prospects 

With an online master in Wind Energy, you are qualified for employment in the rapidly expanding international industry and you can contribute with valuable knowledge used in the development of wind turbines, as well as design and control of the mechanical and electrical components and systems.

To be admitted to this programme, you must have an academic bachelor degree and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.

Description

DTU’s main campus consists of more than 100 buildings on a 106-hectare plain, which is divided into four quadrants—just like points in a coordinate system. The campus is safe and secure, and a site of great natural beauty with wooded areas, sports fields, inner courtyards, and gardens.  

The campus is located within the Greater Copenhagen Area and is easily accessed by car or public transport. You can get from DTU to Copenhagen Center in about 40 minutes by bus or trian, 45 minutes by bike and 20 minutes by car.

Most of the DTU main campus was build in the 1960s and 1970s, but new and modern facilities have been build continuously. DTU is currently investing more than 500,000,000 EUR in a comprehensive transformation of the university buildings and infrastructure, which is aimed at providing world-class research and student facilities.
