Description

By studying for a MSc in Economics and specialising in finance, you will obtain insight into risk and portfolio management, the pricing of stocks, bonds, and derivatives, as well as the skills necessary to analyse companies’ strategic capital budgeting and funding decisions.

The degree places emphasis on how to relate economic knowledge to microeconomics, macroeconomics, and accounting concepts, as well as how to apply econometric techniques to economic data.

Career Opportunities

Graduates with strong analytical and quantitative skills in finance typically find jobs in the financial sector and in large business enterprises.

Typical jobs for holders of a MSc Economics, specialising in finance, are:

• Analyst in the financial sector, specializing in bond analysis, stock analysis, firms’ corporate finance activities, or general economic trends
• Portfolio manager in pension funds, investment funds, or financial institutions
• Responsible for risk management in financial corporations or large companies
• Consultant
• Jobs related to supervising or regulating the financial markets
• Academic career with teaching and research (enrolment in a PhD programme)

Entry Requirements

To apply for the Master’s programme in Economics - Finance, you need a relevant Bachelor’s degree.

You can also apply if you hold a similar degree including a minimum of 100 ECTS within Economics. Read more on sdu.dk

If your degree does not fulfil the entry requirements, the study board will decide whether you can follow one or more supplementary courses.

Admission 

Applicants will need to document English at B Level or equivalent to this level.

Tuition Fees and Scholarships

No tuition fees for EU/EEA/Swiss students.
There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside of EU/EAA/Switzerland.
