Description

Cultural Sociology will give you a command of sociological theory and methods, as well as the opportunity to specialize in an area of research of your own specific interest. The master’s programme covers a variety of theories, themes and methods. You will be able to use both statistical tools and to a variety of advanced qualitative methods for collecting and analyzing empirical data. 
The programme includes various thematic courses, some are of a “hands-on” character, such as courses in project management and advanced evaluation methods. Part of the master’s programme is dedicated to the experience of being an intern. Hence, students will have the opportunity to do an internship in a public organization, a private enterprise, or an NGO in Denmark or elsewhere in the world.

The profile MSc Cultural Sociology in Social Transformation Processes provides you with analytical competencies that support a career in companies, organizations and associations that have to cope with change related to the development of new structures or improvement of relations between the society and its citizens, institutions and interest groups.

Admission  

Applicants with a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from their previous University are qualified for admission. Applicants with a professional bachelor degree and other qualifying degrees may have access provided certain demands are fulfilled. 

Students with a bachelor degree in one of the other Social Sciences (e.g. Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, and Law) and from the Humanities (e.g. Communication, Religion, Journalism, and History) will be evaluated and decided by the Study Board.

Students with a professional bachelor’s degree (e.g. social worker, police officer, primary school teacher) will be evaluated and decided by the Study Board.


In addition, you need to document your proficiency in English.

Tuition Fees and Scholarships

No tuition fees for EU/EEA/Swiss students.
There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside of EU/EAA/Switzerland.
