The Executive MBA at Copenhagen Business School has been designed to bring together senior executives, gradually building up your skills and knowledge to the very highest international level. Five business themes make up the pillars of the programme:
  • Organisation & Leadership
  • Finance & Accounting
  • Marketing & Strategy
  • Leading Responsible Corporations
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation
These themes are studied, applied to the challenges faced in today’s market and looked at through the lens of participants’ own organisation as participating employees apply ideas and solutions back to their own company throughout the programme.

Teaching takes place at CBS in Denmark, but also in the United States, England, China and Africa*.
*Teaching in Africa and England is only included in the 20-month intensive EMBA format

Career Opportunities

CBS Executive MBA participants are senior managers in their organisations. The Executive MBA brings them to the next level and gives them a more holistic view of business and expands their network through the diverse class of individuals from various industries, locations and job functions. EMBA participants create more value for their business, using case studies directly from their company and applying what they are learning in the programme immediately back to their sponsoring organisation.

About the Degree

The Executive MBA at CBS is designed for the busy senior executive and as such, offers three different ways to complete the programme, giving the possibility to choose the structure which best fits your work and personal life.

  • 20 month, intensive global format
With this format, you will attend 11 one-week modules, taking place on four continents, over the course of 20 months.
  • 26 month, flexible format
With this format, you will meet Fridays and Saturdays approximately two times a month, over 26 months. This format gives you the option to take a break in between terms.

  • Executive Certificates
With this format, you can break down your E-MBA into freestanding courses which can, if combined, lead to the Executive MBA degree. There are three certificates (General Management, Business Analysis & Leadership, and Business Development & Innovation). Admittance to the Executive Certificates is managed in the same way as admission to the E-MBA programme. The completion of all three courses within a five year period allows you to graduate with an Executive MBA degree.

Applicants must meet the following criteria: ·
  • A university of business school degree (min. Bachelor’s or Diploma Degree)
  • Minimum three years of managerial experience
  • GMAT or strong performance in the CBS MBA Admissions Test (takes place as part of the personal interview)
  • Support from your organisation
The 20-month intensive programme begins annually in September and the 26-month Flexible programme and Executive Certificates begin annually in February. Applications are processed on a rolling basis and it is strongly suggested you apply at your earliest convenience. Read more about the admissions process here.
