Scientists from the Technical University of Denmark take lead in hydrogen energy research
Across the world scientists are trying to figure out how to mimic the ability of plants to produce fuel in the form of hydrogen by means of sunlight.
So far progress has been slow, partly because it has lacked an inexpensive material that can be used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.
But now international and Danish researchers from the Technical University of Denmark have succeded in replacing the expensive platinum with a much cheaper material of molybdenum and sulfur that can act as a catalyst.
