Description
The International Bachelor in Natural Sciences programme at Roskilde University begins with a one year basic section of interdisciplinary studies. The last two years you will specialise in two bachelor subjects.
During the basic section (60 ECTS), you will become familiar with key natural science theories, methods and models, while studying in an international environment. Through your project work, you will learn the basic methods for how to examine nature using experiments, analyses and models.
In the last two years (120 ECTS), you will specialise in two bachelor subjects:
- Bioprocess Science (int)
- Chemistry (int)
- Computer Science (int)
- Environmental Biology (int)
- Mathematics (int)
- Molecular Biology (int)
- Physics (int)
The International Bachelor in Natural Science offers you the opportunity to study natural science in an international environment. Foreign students make up 80% of the programme’s participants, so you will become part of an exciting study environment that will prepare you to work with a broad range of nationalities in international companies and organizations.
From the very first day, the project work will teach you to think and work based on research. Each term, you will formulate a specific science problem in collaboration with your team. At the end of the term, you must present a research-based solution that is based on scientific literature and preferably on your own experiments. Each of your projects will have a researcher assigned, who will act as your supervisor throughout the process.
Career Opportunities
The International Bachelor in Natural Sciences equips you with strong interdisciplinary scientific skills—from coding, statistics, and data analysis to experimental methods, modelling, and project management—opening doors to a wide range of careers across research, industry, and innovation. Depending on your chosen study path, you can work in roles such as medicinal biologist, ecotoxicologist, data analyst, physicist, environmental consultant, software developer, QC specialist, or mathematician, contributing to fields like pharmaceuticals, environmental protection, AI development, materials science, or biotech. Graduates can also pursue entrepreneurship, teaching, or continue into a master’s and potentially a PhD for even broader research and professional opportunities.
