Want to play a central role in the development of the future's intelligent products?

With an MSc in Engineering - Electronics you will be a specialist in microelectronics, embedded and communication systems. These disciplines form the physical framework for today’s digital world and provide a stepping-stone to the development of new technologies in the future.

You will learn how high frequency electronics are designed in practice and play a central role in complex digital and analog systems. Automotive and advanced driver assistant systems, satellite communication, autonomous robots and drones, computers, IoT systems, sensors and edge computing are only a small subset of the systems where high frequency electronics are an integral component.Microelectronics go into space crafts and satellites, among other things, to observe materials, define discovery path, and send data back to Earth.

The electronic engineer's skills are also used in the design and development of products such as smartphones, sensors, IoT systems, emergency power systems, power electronics, frequency converters and robots.Integrated circuits and systems are an integral part of all electronics and have become even more important with the advent of AI and our highly interconnected digital society. This means modern devices require microelectronics, embedded systems, and communication technology to be useful, and as a result the demand for electronics engineers with these skills is high and will only increase.

Programme structure

This master’s programme offers a solid foundation in two complementary disciplines: Embedded Electronics and Telecommunications Systems. You will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to design, develop, and implement advanced technological solutions.

Within Embedded Electronics, you will explore the intelligent systems that power modern devices and infrastructure. The focus is on designing efficient, reliable, and application-specific hardware-software systems – covering areas such as Accelerated AI, Chip Design, and co-design methodologies.

In Telecommunications Systems, you will delve into the technologies that enable global connectivity. The curriculum covers wireless communication, signal processing, network architecture, and antennas – preparing you to build robust and scalable communication solutions.

Project and research based learning environment

You will be part of a study-based and collaborative learning environment where you work in project groups. You and your fellow students are responsible for planning and carrying out projects within the allotted time. Projects typically come from companies and we emphasise the importance of solving problems from 'real life'.Career opportunitiesThe program opens up a wide range of career opportunities both in Denmark and internationally. As a graduate with a Master of Science in Electronics, you can pursue roles in development, project management, consulting, or sales. You might find yourself working with computers and data networks, control and monitoring systems, energy-saving products, mobile communications, electrical devices and machines, robots, drones, automotive, automation of production processes, and industrial electronics.
