International interest in English-taught study programmes

The application deadline for quota 2 has now passed, and this year more than 8100 applicants with non-Danish citizenship want to study in Denmark.

This year, 52.244 hopeful applicants have applied for admission to a higher education study programme in Denmark.

Among them, 8,178 applicants hold citizenship other than Danish and have applied for one of the English-taught programmes offered by Danish higher education institutions. This represents a 2 percent increase compared with last year, indicating that international interest in studying in Denmark remains strong.

More than 6,500 of the international applicants come from the Nordic countries or from EU/EEA countries. The growth in applications is primarily seen in English-taught bachelor’s programmes offered at universities. At the same time, the number of international applicants has declined for study programmes at business academies and university colleges.

March 15 is the annual deadline for quota 2 applications and is a key date for applicants who wish to be admitted to higher education in Denmark, particularly international students applying to English-taught programmes.

All applicants will receive a decision on their application by the end of July.
