Are you interested in getting an insight into the latest developments in wind power along with other international and Danish students during your summer vacation? In close cooperation with representatives from the wind turbine industry in Denmark, Aarhus University School of Engineering offers a summer course with focus on wind turbine technology in August 2018 in Denmark. The purpose of the summer course is to enable participants to apply their engineering competences to wind turbine technology problems and gain an insight into the functioning of turbines and the interaction between the different sub-components and their demand profiles. The summer course's main focus is on mechanics and power engineering problems.A considerable part of the course will be carried out in cooperation with the Danish wind turbine industry. Also, part of the teaching will be conducted by the cooperating companies. The summer school welcomes you who:
  • are studying to become an engineer - on Bachelor's or Master's level
  • have a great interest in wind turbine technology
  • will finish your engineering education within the next year
  • have educational competences within machine design, structural dynamics, mechatronics or power engineering
  • are a PhD student or a young engineer with experience from the wind energy sector
Candidates will be selected based on the following five criteria: academic profile, grades, practical experience, proficiency in English and motivation.

Aarhus University School of Engineering

Description

The engineering discipline at Aarhus University is anchored in two organisational units: the Department of Engineering (ENG) and the Aarhus University School of Engineering (ASE).

The department was established in 2011 and is responsible for all research and development activities and talent development in the technical science field.

On 1 January 2012, the former Engineering College of Aarhus merged with Aarhus University and now brings together eight B.Eng programmes, three technical BSc programmes and eight MSc.Eng programmes. The programmes are practically oriented, and all three levels include collaboration with the industry. The interplay between the department and the school ensures that our engineering graduates are well equipped to transform scientific knowledge and engineering know-how into valuable solutions for society.

Strong engineering framework
This organisation of the engineering discipline at Aarhus University forms a solid framework for operation and development of engineering education in accordance with market demand, for a unique model of cooperation with the industry and for a strongly expanding research environment.

Department of Engineering and Aarhus University School of Engineering are united in a common goal of ensuring a clear correlation between societal investment in the engineering discipline and the contribution of the engineering discipline to a stronger Danish economy.
