Integrative regulation of circulation and its pathological changes are only possible to study in awake animals, where telemetry technique is one of the essential modern approaches. Applications include recordings of blood pressure and flow, biopotentials, intracranial pressure, locomotion, temperature and glucose concentration. Most of these techniques will be taught you during the course. Modern telemetry is now used in rodent studies as well as in experiments on large animals; in the laboratory as well as in the natural habitat of the animals and even in the space in weightless conditions. The course will provide examples and discussion for most of these applications. The participants will get hand-on experience with operation technique and comprehensive data analyses. We expect that the course will be valuable for both basic researchers and industry. The course will be useful not only for cardiovascular researchers but also for scientist within neuroscience, metabolism, exercise and other integrative disciplines.
