Subject: Responsive Web Design
Dates: 29 July - 16 August

Academic level: Bachelor level
Prerequisites: Proficiency with Java programming
Maximum enrolment: Maximum 50 participants. If there are more eligible applicants than available places, they will be distributed on a first-come, first served basis
Application deadline: 1 May, 2018, however courses with available places will remain open for application until June 15.
Location:  VIA University College, Aarhus City Campus, Aarhus Denmark

The main purpose of this course is to introduce a set of theories, tools and practicable methods in order for students to obtain profound knowledge and practical skills of web development with the ability of creating websites running on PC and mobile devices using basic web programming and design combined with jQuery.

The students will gain knowledge of the following topics:
HTML5 
CSS3
W3C Validation
Responsive web-Design (Multiplatform)
jQuery
Bootstrap

Having completed this course, students will be able to: 
Create web sites using Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML5)
Style web pages using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS3)
Using responsive web-Design to design web sites that are platform independent
Create “smart” web sites using jQuery, and Bootstrap

In afternoon and evenings, VIA Summer School will arrange a variety of social and cultural events to expand your knowledge of Denmark and the other participants at the VIA Summer School courses. You can decide for yourself the extent to wish you want to participate in these activities.
