The programme is about energy technology and systems with focus on the environment.
Examples of courses in the programme are:
- Energy resources, markets and policies
- Modelling and analysis of sustainable energy systems
- Sustainability assessment of energy conversion and use
You can choose between these study lines:
- Thermal energy
- Biofuels
- Electric energy systems
- Hydrogen and fuel cells
- Energy savings
Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction, exercises and project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.
The final 6 months you will be making your MSc thesis. The thesis is a scientific research project, often carried out in collaboration with one of university's industrial partners.
Sustainable Energy can be studied as a:

You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.
Graduation from the master's degree programme confers the title Master of Science in Engineering.
Educational Institutions
You can study Sustainable Energy at the Technical University of Denmark (Danmarks Tekniske Universitet). Teaching will take place at Risø DTU in Roskilde and at DTU in Lyngby.
Entry Requirements
To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.
In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Tuition
There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students, unless you are a student from a Nordic or EU country, or from Liechtenstein.
