Name: Sustainable Biotechnology

Duration: 2 years

European transfer credits: 120 ECTS

This is a new programme starting in the summer of 2010.

The programme is based on international research in sustainability, biofuels and the use of biomass as raw material in biorefineries. It is based on the latest technologies and scientific results within the field.

You will receive an in-depth understanding of the basic biology, microbiology and biotechnology involved in the refining of biomass. You will attain fundamental knowledge of the clean process technologies that are starting to form the basis of the development of the energy supplies and industrial processes of the future.

Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

Sustainable Biotechnology can be studied as a:

  • 2-year MSc programme (120 ECTS)

You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.

If you choose to complete the master's degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title of Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering.

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students, unless you are a student from a Nordic or EU country, or from Liechtenstein.
