Environmental and Resource Management

This programme combines science and technology with social science. You will learn to identify and solve environmental problems while maintaining the balance between the environment, business and the society.

Environmental and Resource Management is about solving environmental problems. You will study the interaction and the conflicts between the environment, nature and the society. And you will learn to solve these coflicts by economical, political and technical means.

You will work on projects covering everything from idea, analysis, solutions and implementation.

The programme includes social science as well as technical courses.

You will be able to choose courses such as

  • Strategic Environmental Management of Business
  • Environment and Development
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: Strategy and Practice
  • Global Health
  • Biorefinery design

Teaching varies between lectures, classroom instruction and project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

The final 6 months you will be making your MSc thesis. The thesis is a scientific research project, often carried out in collaboration with one of university's industrial partners.

Environmental and Resource Management can be studied as a:

  • 2-year masters degree programme (120 ECTS)

You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.

Graduation from the master's degree programme confers the title Master of Science (MSc).


Educational Institutions

Environmental and Resource Management is a joint programme of the University of Southern Denmark (Syddansk Universitet) and the University of Aalborg (Aalborg Universitet).

 

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to an MSc programme, you must have a bachelor degree in a relevant subject.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Admission

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students, unless you are a student from a Nordic or EU country, or from Liechtenstein.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.
