The Business Administration and Service Management programme gives you the skills to work in the service industry. The programme is based on business economics, with a focus on: tourism, cultural institutions, passenger transportation and leisure.

You will study business administration and get an understanding of the different needs enterprises and organisations have in connection with their work and development. You get a broad social scientific and humanistic insight into culture, society and corporate life.

You will become familiar with general business economic as well as traditional economic theory, but also theories specifically aimed at the service industry. You will learn to analyse and address economic and managerial projects within the four main areas:

  • Tourism
  • Cultural institutions, for example theatres and museums
  • Sport and leisure
  • Transportation

Core subjects in the programme include marketing, economics, strategy and specific subjects that focus on the service branch.

Teaching varies between lectures and classroom instruction. In addition, there is often project work together with other students. Students are encouraged to participate in class discussions.

Business Administration and Service Management can be studied as a:

  • 3-year BSc programme (180 ECTS)

You also have the possibility to take single courses or subjects within the programme.

If you choose to complete the bachelor's degree programme, you will graduate with the academic title Bachelor of Science (BSc).

You can study Business Administration and Service Management at the Copenhagen Business School - CBS (Handelshøjskolen) in Copenhagen.

Entry Requirements

The general admission requirements for international students include one of the following international certificates: the Danish/French Baccalauréat (DFB), the European Baccalaureate (EB), the International Baccalaureate (IB), the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB) or another foreign qualifying examination certificate that can be equated with a Danish upper secondary school leaving certificate.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

Admission

The application deadline is March 15 for a course start in September. Admission is handled through The Danish Coordinated Application System. You can apply via optagelse.dk .

A few educational institutions offer a course start in February, where applications are sent directly to the institution. Contact the educational institution for detailed information on application deadlines.

Exchange students should contact their home institution for information on application procedures and deadlines.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students, unless you are a student from a Nordic or EU country, or from Liechtenstein.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Some institutions require all full-degree applicants to pay an application fee, if you are not a citizen in a Nordic og EU country and you do not hold a Danish direct qualifying education. The application fee will be reimbursed if you are admitted.

Semester Start

An academic year is made up of two semesters, which begin around September 1 and February 1.
