The Business Academy Aarhus offers a wide range of AP and Bachelor degree programmes within Technology, Business and Computer Sciences, etc. The academy is one of the largest of its kind in Denmark with more than 3,500 full-time students, of which 600 are international students. In addition, approx. 1,600 students are enrolled in in-service study programmes. There are 220 full-time academic teachers.

The Business Academy Aarhus works with university researchers and private companies to enable students to engage in practical, real-world problem solving. The mandatory internships of a duration of 2½ to 12 months include placements with Danish or international companies. In 2011, internships were placed with 650 companies in Denmark and abroad.

Description

Would you like to work with all phases in the building process – from first sketch to finished building? Prepare the drawing material, collaborate with the authorities, make the detailed planning and financial estimates, supervise work at construction sites and basically work as project manager? Description   

The Automotive Technology programme is designed for people who would like to work with the most recent technology within the field of advanced electronic, hydraulic and automotive technological systems.

The Automotive Technology programme covers the advanced technologies used in the automotive industry, in garages and in racing teams.You learn to use the most advanced mechanical and electronic automotive systems, both in connection with error finding and fine tuning of cars and engines. Description

The Chemical and Biotechnical Science programme is for people who would like to work in a control, research or development laboratory.  Chemical and Biotechnical Analysts are qualified for planning, managing and implementing analytical work and results within both chemical and biotechnical areas.

The programme is theory-based and job-oriented, offering an alternating mix of theory, laboratory work, project work, lectures and study visits. Theory teaching is team-based whereas laboratory work is performed both individually and in small groups. Both the teaching and the examination form are primarily project organised, reflecting the work form you will encounter in your future job as a Chemical and Biotechnical Analyst.

A main part of the teaching is structured around themes. Examples of themes could include water, environment, foodstuffs, chemical synthesis, fermentation, biotechnology and chemical technology.

Computer Science

Description

The Computer Science programme is an advanced, business-oriented systems developer/programmer education. The Computer Science programme will provide you with extensive knowledge of systems development and design. Teaching is closely related to the industry and includes a variety of teaching formats, e.g. classroom teaching, project teaching and exercise classes.

The Marketing Management programme is an internationally and practice-orientated programme. Description

The programme will give you competences that will enable you to participate in the development of technical design and realisation of systems in a distributed environment. It also focuses on the application of widespread methods and technologies.

The Top-Up in Software Development consists of 4 or 5 core modules and 1 or 2 elective modules, an internship and a final Bachelor’s project. The modules deal with various issues related to the development of large data-heavy and distributed systems and are completed as separate subjects. It is your responsibility to create cohesion between the modules in your final bachelor's project.

Your programme will be composed of a transition module and three core modules. The choice of transition module depends on your qualifying exam. Apart from that, you need to complete two further modules. You may choose among elective modules, adding up to a total of six modules.

Some of the topics covered in this programme:  Web programming and backend (for Multimedia Designers); Web programming and frontend (for Computer Scientists); Databases and XML; Interface design and digital aesthetics; Philosophy of science and methodology etc.

The programme is aimed at employment in R&D departments in companies of all sizes or in large consultancy or software companies working in the web field. Following a couple of years' work experience you will be able to handle superior functions in connection with the planning and architecture of complicated web systems.

About the Degree

The top-up degree extends an already acquired Academy Profession programme to a related or prespecified bachelor level. The top-up option is only available to a subset of AP degrees and offered as a 90 ECTS supplement with a resulting degree of Professional Bachelor.   

Admission  

The Bachelor’s top-up programme in Web Development is designed to be a direct top-up possibility to the AP degree in Multimedia Design and Communication or Computer Science. Therefore, in order to be admitted to the programme, you must have completed the AP degree.

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside EU/EAA/Switzerland. Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.
