Summerschool: Aalborg University 2012

The courses taught at the Summer School is a unique option for undergraduate students interested in Information and Communication Technology.

Summer School at Aalborg University offers you the chance to acquire theoretical and methodological skills at a high level and at the same time experience our renowned Project Organised Problem Based pedagogical model. As a Summer School participant you will attend lectures by internationally recognized researchers and apply the theories and methods in real world problems.

The focus is on learning through investigating real world problems.You will collaborate with co-students in small groups. Each group will have its own room with blackboards, tables, chairs and Internet access.Furthermore you will have access to top-level laboratories and a library with a large collection of high quality books, journals and standards.

After a hard day of study you will be invited to join our memorable social program. Local guides will show you secret sides of Aalborg and challenge you to taste local specialties. Furthermore, we organize trips to some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe that are located close to Aalborg.

Learn to build your own sensor network for e.g. collecting and communicating multimedia data

Multimedia Information and Signal Processing
(5 ECTS)
Gain insight in the theory of multimedia and signal processing and put the theory into practice

Mobile Phone Programming
(5 ECTS)
Learn how to program on mobile devices for yourself and, how to deal with networking issues

Future Energy Systems
(5 ECTS)
Learn about the challenges future energy systems faces.

Psychophysics: from stimulus to perception
(5 ECTS)
Study the relation between physical measures and human perception

Dynamics of Systems using SIMULINK and PULSE
(5 ECTS)
Improve your knowledge about the behavior of civil engineering structures such as high rise buildings, bridges and wind turbines. You will also get a chance to make numerical and experimental studies using SIMULINK and the PULSE measurement system.

Noise Measurements and Hearing Assessment
(5 ECTS)
Get introduced to selective topics witin acoustics e.g. noise measurements in buildings, testing of peoples hearing and analysis of data.

Compressed Sensing
(5 ECTS)
Study a new emerging signal acquisition technique. This includes introductions to e.g. numerical optimization, graphics processing units, sparse representations / approximations and applications.
