Bachelor degrees - Social Science

This is a collection of all the bachelor degrees within the field of Social Science. The bachelor degrees are all taught in English at one or more Danish institutions.
Bachelor of Leisure Management
The programme is a vocational, business administration programme that is geared towards the leisure and adventure industries. You will learn to plan and complete tasks in marketing, economics and management in the leisure and adventure industries.
Teacher in Denmark/Bachelor of education
You will be authorized as a teacher for primary and lower secondary levels in three subjects. Denmark is in need of qualified teachers.
Asian Studies Programme
You will be introduced to subjects related to e.g. International Business Economics and Comparative Social Analysis. You will learn to analyse international economies with focus on East Asia, learn to use practical Japanese or Chinese, and get a fundamental understanding of the social conditions.
Business, Language and Culture
In the programme, you learn both language and economics. You will also study foreign cultures and the problems or challenges that an international corporation may have to face. You learn to analyse, assess and solve tasks in connection with corporate international activities.
Communication
This programme contains the subjects information and media and communication theories. You will work with different media, research methods and solution models. You will learn about e.g. communication in organisations and find out how to coordinate communications and information-based projects.
European Studies (Social Science)
The programme gives you insight into e.g. political developments in Europe and the external role of the EU or EU compared with e.g. the African Union. You will learn to analyse and understand the EU and its institutions as well as the economic and social development in Europe.
Global Business Informatics
The programme focuses on cooperation and communication between people across companies and continents. IT constantly creates new possibilities for business solutions, but to make the most of them requires both technical and cultural understanding. The programme therefore combines theory and methods from computer science, social science and business studies. As global cooperation is an important part of the programme, the course is in English.
International Bachelor Study Programme in Humanities
The humanities study programme contains courses in language, literature, philosophy, history and psychology. The programme contains two subjects that you choose on the basis of what interests you most. These can be combinations such as Danish and Performance-design, German and EU-studies or Communication and IT. The bachelor programme will give you an interdisciplinary understanding of the central issues of humanities and will qualify you for the master programme.
International Development Studies
You will study subjects such as socioeconomic contributors, structures and processes, politics, culture and society as well as history, development and theory. Furthermore, you will learn e.g. how to analyse the development processes and challenges in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
International Management
You will get insight into economics, marketing, finances and investments. The focus is on Danish corporations and their cooperation with foreign partners. The programme qualifies you to work as e.g. manager in international corporations. You will improve your language skills and learn to understand other cultures.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The bachelor programme is a 1.5-year top-up on a 2-year AP degree programme or similar programme. After graduation you will have competencies to start and run companies, or new units in established companies, and make them grow.
Market and Management Anthropology
This English language programme will provide you with insight into how markets are created, how they work and the management challenges they represent for private and public organisations. You will learn to analyse and reflect upon market mechanisms and gain insight into the interplay between the market as an institution and people’s social life, opinions and needs. After completing the bachelor programme, you can continue your studies on the master programme. This will qualify you to work in the private and public sector both in Denmark and abroad.
Cultural Encounters
The subjects areas in this programme are e.g. cultural and language encounters, sociocultural parameters as well as theory, empirical studies and methods. You will learn how to solve problems in conncention with cultural encounters e.g. through understanding of anthropology and sociolinguistics.
International Bachelor Study Programme in Social Sciences
On RUC’s social science bachelor programme, you will work across the social science disciplines and learn about such subjects as economics, politics and sociology. The study programme contains two subjects that you choose on the basis of what interests you most. These can be subjects such as business studies, global studies, social science, EU-studies and international development studies. The bachelor programme will give you an inter-disciplinary understanding of the central issues of social science and will qualify you for the master programme.
International Hospitality Management
This top-up programme focuses on different functions in the hotel and restaurant sector. The core subjects are service, development, administration and management. You will be taught budgeting, development and personnel management. You will also learn how to develop new markets and concepts, and will gain an understanding of a the sector's strategic challenges.
Bachelor of Value Chain Management
In this programme you will learn to link the different activities in a company together so that the right people in the value chain get the necessary information. The 3½ year bachelor programme includes an internship for one semester in a company in Denmark or abroad.
