Programmes are currently taught in Danish only
Funen Art Academy is a five year higher education in contemporary visual arts. The study at Funen Art Academy is nationally recognized by the Danish state, so that Danish students and EU students moving to Denmark are eligible for SU (a study grant from the Danish State Education Grant and Loan Scheme).
The academy is funded by the Danish Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the municipality of Odense, and private foundations and sponsors.
Focal points of the Funen Art Academy are a workshop-based teaching, international perspectives, and a collaboration between students and teachers crossing artistic media and study years. The Academy aims at educating its students within an international practice - consequently tuition is carried out in English, and a large part of the study programme is taught by foreign artists and art theoriticians
The Academy practice is largely oriented towards the conceptual arts and on art practices, which deal with political and social issues. The Funen Art Academy collaborate with institutions of art and culture in Denmark and abroad, and prioritize student exchange highly.
