The Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance
Programmes are currently taught in Danish only
The Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance trains actors, directors, scenographers, stage managers, production managers, sound and lighting technicians, contemporary dancers, choreographers and dance pedagogues/danseformidlere. It also offers supplementary training to professional theatre and dance artists. The dance-pedagogue training is a one-year programme while the other programmes last four years. The continuing education consists of short courses, workshops and seminars.
The school provides a professional environment and a methodical approach for each subject combining theory and practice. Students receive solid, professional preparation in the various disciplines, first learning the basics of their craft and then specializing their personal artistic expression. All of the programmes offer students both extensive practical experience at the school and traineeships with professional theatres and dance companies. As well, all of the programmes give students the opportunity to experiment, to an increasing degree, with various methods and genres.
