Description

The programme in Fashion Design centres on women’s wear and offers you a basic understanding of the design profession and the applied theories and methods within the fashion and lifestyle sector.
You learn to take a position on existing brands, and to create a flow in your collection that matches the identity of the brand. Furthermore, you gain basic design skills as well as insight into the entire design process from the first sketches to the time of production. You learn about target groups, trends and tendencies, and how to navigate in the fashion industry.

Career Opportunities

With an AP degree specialising in Fashion Design you have the chance to work as an assistant within the fashion and lifestyle sector. On the basis of the designer’s premade sketches your job is to assist in developing the designer’s collection. For instance, you compile the right materials for the collection and work out a graphical presentation which is important for the production of the clothing.

Most of our AP degree graduates choose to do a BA top-up which gives you access to a wider range of career prospects.

About the Degree

The Academy Profession programmes combine theory with practice and are suited for employment in business and industry. In some programmes students have the possibility of a top-up degree in which they continue at a bachelor level within a prespecified or related field. The top-up degree is a 90 ECTS supplement programme resulting in a Professional Bachelor Degree.
