Engineers in Pharmaceutical Design and Engineering act as links between many different players and phases in the development and production of drugs.

The programme brings together students from a wide range of different backgrounds, and aims to give them a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the pharma process from discovery, development and production as well as preclinical and clinical testing through to patenting, licensing and marketing. This is achieved at the same time as preserving and deepening the specific academic background of the individual students. There is a strong emphasis on developing teamworking skills and on communicating results and presenting ideas and plans which closely emulate the work situation in the pharma industry. There is a strong element of biopharma and biology, reflecting the gowth in this sector of the pharma industry.

Career Opportunities 

The pharmaceutical industry has been heavily involved in defining the knowledge profile of the MSc programme in pharmaceutical design and engineering. Pharmaceutical companies are therefore confident that a MSc in pharmaceutical design and engineering from DTU has a solid, basic knowledge of the pharmaceutical development process—combined with the highest possible academic knowledge within his or her specialization.

Graduates find jobs in all sectors of the pharmaceutical industry as well as in companies that work directly or indirectly with the drug and pharmaceutical industry.

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside EU/EAA/Switzerland. Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Danmarks Tekniske Universitet's hovedadresse ligger i Lyngby 10 kilometer nord for København, og det er primært her at DTU studerende bliver undervist. Du kan tage turen til DTU i Lyngby med bil eller ved hjælp af offentlige transportmidler. Der kører flere busser næsten lige til døren og Lyngby Station ligger 2 km. væk, men også her er der gode busforbindelser, f.eks. bus nr. 300S mod Nærum eller bus nr. 190. Begge har stoppested på Anker Engelunds Vej.
