European Wind Energy Master

EWEM is a 2 year master course. The joint first semester and the specific multi-disciplinary and project-oriented teaching will give the student the ability to transfer knowledge and competences beyond his/her specialisation and to embed design choices in a sociotechnical context. The student acquires knowledge in theoretical and applied sciences underlying wind energy systems, and specific competencies necessary to operate in the chosen area of specialization.

The EWEM- European Wind Energy Master is an advanced programme with four specializations: 
  • Wind Physics
  • Rotor Design
  • Electric Power Systems
  • Offshore Engineering. 

Career Opportunities 

EWEM cooperates with the most relevant wind energy partners, ranging wind energy associations, wind turbine manufacturers, (offshore) wind farm developers, R&D institutions, utilities and other players in the wind energy value chain.  These partners also offer graduates opportunities to start a career in the Wind Energy sector.

In addition, an EWEM graduate will receive a double diploma in wind energy and engineering , awarded by two of the host universities. Therefore career prospects  in the following sectors are also possible: Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Offshore engineering,  Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.

About the Degree

The European Wind Energy Master consortium is composed of four Universities.

After completing the EWEM programme the graduate will:
  • understand the product development process applied (within and outside wind energy).
  • be able to apply and/or improve a scientific methodology to improve product development.
  • possesses the competencies necessary for the design and implementation of complex wind energy systems and their components in one of the four specialisation tracks.
  • be able to contribute to the formulation and implementation of a research project.

To be admitted to this programme, you must have an academic bachelor degree.

In addition, documentation may be required verifying that your proficiency in English is at a specified level.

For Non-EU/EEA and EU citizens there is an application fee.

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside EU/EAA/Switzerland. Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.

Danmarks Tekniske Universitet's hovedadresse ligger i Lyngby 10 kilometer nord for København, og det er primært her at DTU studerende bliver undervist. Du kan tage turen til DTU i Lyngby med bil eller ved hjælp af offentlige transportmidler. Der kører flere busser næsten lige til døren og Lyngby Station ligger 2 km. væk, men også her er der gode busforbindelser, f.eks. bus nr. 300S mod Nærum eller bus nr. 190. Begge har stoppested på Anker Engelunds Vej.
