DescriptionThe MSc Eng in Aquatic Science and Technology focuses on fisheries, aquaculture, oceanography and management of aquatic resources. The programme addresses the challenges associated with sustainable aquaculture and capture based production of fish and shellfish, small and large scale environmental change and the conservation of aquatic ecosystems.
As an MSc Eng in Aquatic Science and Technology you can choose to specialize in Aquaculture, Fisheries or Oceanography. All specializations include a common interdisciplinary basis of biology, mathematics, and physics, with an emphasis on management of aquatic resources.
Career OpportunitiesAs an MSc Eng in Aquatic Science and Technology you will have cross-disciplinary qualifications for working with global issues within climate, environment and sustainability. Depending of your specialization you will be able to
- Develop and implement innovative technology and systems for recirculating aquaculture.
- Develop effective and selective tools for sustainable fisheries management.
- Design economical and environmentally sustainable management and production systems.
- Give quantitative advice about the impacts of climate change on aquatic organisms and ecosystems.
