Are you interested in getting an insight into the latest developments in wind power along with other international and Danish students during your summer vacation?
In close cooperation with representatives from the wind turbine industry in Denmark, Aarhus University School of Engineering offers a summer course with focus on wind turbine technology in August 2016 in Denmark.
The purpose of the summer course is to enable participants to apply their engineering competences to wind turbine technology problems and gain an insight into the functioning of turbines and the interaction between the different sub-components and their demand profiles.
The summer course's main focus is on mechanics and power engineering problems.
A considerable part of the course will be carried out in cooperation with the Danish wind turbine industry. Also, part of the teaching will be conducted by the cooperating companies.

Venue: Please notice that the summer course is not held in Aarhus. The location is Laugesens Have (Laugesen's Garden), Knivsbækvej 13, 6920 Videbæk.

The summer school welcomes you who:
  • are studying to become an engineer - on bachelor or master level
  • have a great interest in wind turbine technology
  • will finish your engineering education within the next year
  • have educational competences within machine design, structural dynamics, mechatronics or power engineering
  • are a PhD student or a young engineer with experience from the wind energy sector 
Candidates will be selected based on the following five criteria: academic profile, grades, practical experience, proficiency in English and motivation.To participate in the Wind Power Summer School, you are required to pay a fee covering food and accommodation and possibly a participation and tuition fee.*) "Food and accommodation" covers: Food during the summer school. A room shared with 1-3 other participants.

About the Degree

This is a summer course that counts 5 or 10 ECTS. 


  • You must be enrolled in a university programme at the time of the AU Summer University
  • If you are applying for admission to AU Summer University courses at the Master level, you must hold a relevant Bachelor's degree (or as a minimum 180 ECTS in your study programme
  • The application deadline is March 15th
