Migration is in many respects ‘a total social fact’ that create and affect individual life trajectories, family networks, economy, politics, religion and morality. This summerschool will be organised around cases such as the current European border regime; transnational marriages and policies of family reunification; and return migration of long-term labor migrants and war refugees.
The course will also introduce key concepts within classical migration theory and explore how they are operationalized within current studies of political ‘hot spots’ related to human movement and mobility
.
