Description

The Msc programme in Urban Design with a specialization in Urban Architecture takes its point of departure in a number of current and future challenges in the field of urban development and urban design. You will get a solid and professional foundation in subjects, methods, theories and disciplines spanning from urban building design and technologies to knowledge about modeling and user involvement.

The Urban Architecture education offers each student a creative combination of problem-based learning (PBL) and realistic projects with “hands-on” challenges that equip the student to address challenges pertaining to e.g. climate change, temporary urban development projects, urban mobility, projects and strategies of the culture city, the urban landscape and city growth.

During your time as a Master´s degree student in Urban Architecture, you will meet a wide range of teachers who will present you with new knowledge in key areas. The educational programme is internationally oriented, and attracts Danish as well as international students. Furthermore the educational programme offers the opportunity of an internship or/and an external study at another university as well as study trips inside and outside Denmark during the semester.

Career Opportunities  

Urban Architecture combines the architect’s design expertise and the engineer’s professionalism with insight into sociological processes. Urban Architecture candidates are needed all over the world to work with the organisation of construction developments and city spaces to provide city dwellers with exciting and new urban experiences. Candidates are able to undertake positions in for example:
  • Private architectural firms
  • Urban planning practices
  • Design studios
  • Engineering consultancies

Admission  

To apply for the programme in Urban Design it is recommended that you enclose a portfolio and a CV. Please take a look at the requirements for the portfolio

Tuition

There is a tuition fee for all full-time degree students who hold a citizenship from outside EU/EAA/Switzerland.

Students within an exchange programme are not required to pay tuition.
