Description

Chemistry is everywhere in today’s world. Mastering chemistry is crucial for the design of a wide range of everyday products and novel, environmentally friendly materials, products and processes. Designing materials with tailor-made properties requires an enhanced understanding of their synthesis, physico- chemical characteristics, characterization and structure-property relationships at both molecular and nano level. Engineers with this background are required to collaborate with those involved in the production of final products and those designing the respective processes.

This master programme provides a broad background in the design of advanced materials at both theoretical and experimental level via courses covering the chemistry, synthesis, physical chemistry and production of such materials. Extensive collaboration with Danish and international companies is possible either as part of the courses, as a specific project or during the MSc thesis.

There is a possibility of specialization in one of three areas of high technological and scientific interest: polymer engineering, catalysis and nanotechnology, and synthesis and medicinal chemistry.

Career Opportunities 

Chemical and pharmaceutical industries and research, development departments, environmental organizations and authorities, consultancy. Successful MSc graduates can apply for PhD studies.
Candidates from the programme will be qualified for positions in the polymer, catalyst, pharmaceutical, and organic chemical industries, for example.

Tuition

Danmarks Tekniske Universitet's hovedadresse ligger i Lyngby 10 kilometer nord for København, og det er primært her at DTU studerende bliver undervist. Du kan tage turen til DTU i Lyngby med bil eller ved hjælp af offentlige transportmidler. Der kører flere busser næsten lige til døren og Lyngby Station ligger 2 km. væk, men også her er der gode busforbindelser, f.eks. bus nr. 300S mod Nærum eller bus nr. 190. Begge har stoppested på Anker Engelunds Vej.
