Description

Copenhagen Business School is recognised as having the only part-time Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics in the world. The mission of this unique MBA is to give high-potential executives in the shipping industry an up-to-date insight into modern management theories and their application in the maritime sector. The programme is divided into eight week-long modules and runs over 22 months, allowing participants to join from anywhere in the world.

The programme adopts a holistic view of shipping, integrating commercial, technological and financial aspects as well as maritime law, supply-chain management and leadership challenges.

Participants will be taken to the top international level in business administration, reflecting the needs of the industry in a world where globalisation, enhanced competition, and the speed of technological change place ever-increasing demands on executive management skills. The Executive MBA Programme in Shipping and Logistics aims at fulfilling the needs of the entire maritime sector in terms of relevant top management education based on maritime-related cases.

The programme is ideal for managers within the shipping community, but equally relevant for those who deal with shipping either as customer or supplier.Participants come from different countries and represent shipowners, ship operators, logistics providers, financial institutions, insurance companies, shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises, brokers, maritime lawyers, transport consultants, classification societies, maritime administrations, ports, ship equipment producers.

Admission 

The programme starts every other year in September and applications are considered on a rolling basis.

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognised academic institution or equivalent;
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or similar documented qualification;
  • Minimum three years of work experience in a relevant field;
  • Two personal recommendations.
Prior to admission, applicants are interviewed and an individual assessment of the suitability of the applicant is made based upon the above requirements and the result of the interview. For long distance applicants the interview may be conducted by telephone.

Tuition

The tuition fee of the programme is DKK 280,000 (Danish Kroner) – or about EUR 37,000 - to be paid in four equal installments of DKK 70,000 at the beginning of each semester.

Non-EU participants must pay an additional admissions fee of DKK 20, 000.

This fee does not include course material, travel and accommodation costs.
