In cooperation with THUPDI (Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institute) and Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University the Aarhus School of Architecture educates Masters in Energy and Green Architecture (MEGA).

The professional practice master is aimed at professionals with a minumum of two years' experience. MEGA, takes place at Aarhus School of Architecture in Aarhus, Denmark and at THUPDI, Beijing, China. The MEGA master equals 60 ECTS, which equals 1 year of full time studies or 2 years of studying at half time.

Apart from education sessions, MEGA is based on e-learning, group work via Internet (Skype), literature studies and exercises.

About the Programme

The International Master in Energy and Green Architecture educates architects and similar professional groups to meet the challenges presented by sustainable building in the future, focusing on energy efficiency, sustainable energy, architecture, planning and intercultural understanding.


MEGA's target group consists of architects, engineers and constructors as well as other professions with at least 2 years' professional experience.

The programme admits students with a Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent) once a year. The application deadline is February 1st, and the programme start is September 1st. To be admitted to this programme, you must pass a selection committee evaluation of your application. The following documentation is required: 
  • A completed Full Degree/ Student/Exchange Student/Guest Student application form
  • Your most recent transcript or diploma
  • A CV
  • A one page personal statement
  • References if any
  • A recent portfolio      
In addition, language test documentation is required in order to verify that your proficiency in English is at a specified level. Apply
