The studio Architecture and Resources investigates the approach to finite and infinite resources in the field of architectural space and technology on all scales, from urban life and urban developments to infrastructures and buildings, their materialization and resource consumption over life span. By conducting critical, radical and visualized analyses as a precondition for experimental design approaches  without methodological preconceptions – and by building up a continuity and library of documented investigations and processes, the studio transforms from a studio into a laboratory.

The laboratory’s investigations and research inseminate the student’s design projects. The laboratory outcome is inspiring and surprising spatial solutions on different scales, that are grounded on a robust analysis, ask questions, look into critical scenarios and dare to be speculative. It is not about ‘greening’ objects. The setup of this new studio promotes the amalgamation between fact orientated and transdisciplinary scientific and political analyses with genuine artistic experiments as a precondition for a needed paradigm change in architectural practice.
