Core values of the programme are democracy, equality and dialogue and through courses such as Educational Theory, Social Entrepreneurship, Health, Body & Movement, Outdoor Education etc, the student will acquire the tools to discuss, plan, and implement pedagogical programmes based on the knowledge of interpersonal, cultural, and aesthetic approaches and processes, always with respect for the individuals in one’s care.

Career Opportunities

There are many opportunities for students of social education, such as all types of pedagogical work in the fields of daycare, youth and community work, day nurseries and residential institutions in the social sector.

The student will get an all-round pedagogical education, while specialising in one particular target group and an aesthetic subject of one’s interest. Target group examples being specialising in working with infants or youth, working in a residential institution or in community work, while examples of aesthetic subjects can be arts and crafts, music or drama.

About the Degree

The target group of the exchange programme is primarily students under ERASMUS and NORDPLUS mobility programmes, but also students from all other parts of the world are most welcome. The short-term programme is taught in English and is part of the full degree; the professional bachelor programme in Social Education. The full degree is only offered in Danish.

A Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Denmark is awarded 180-240 ECTS on the basis of a 3-4 year programme. In the programme, practice placements must be included equalling no less than 1 semester (30 ECTS) and often much more. Professional Bachelor’s Degree programmes focus on laying a solid theoretical foundation on which they build the practical skills necessary to apply theory to practice in a given professional field.
