Please note that we accept students from universities with whom we have an exchange agreement only.When your home university has nominated you for exchange at VIA, we will send you further information and a link to our online application system.

Deadline for nomination: 15 October to begin your studies the following January (the spring semester)
Deadline for application: 1 November to begin your studies the following January (the spring semester)

Gain useful international experience and get to know more about intercultural communication. You will learn about materials technology, logistics and finance, and different electives within material science and product design. As an exchange student, you will be joining the fourth semester of our full degree programme Materials Science and Product Designs. You can choose between a textile speciality or a furniture speciality during this semester.

Exchange students pay no tuition fee if they come from:
  • Institutions which have signed a Bilateral Agreement on the exchange of students with VIA University College
  • Countries which are full members of the EU or from Norway, Iceland or Lichtenstein

Campus Herning


Campus Herning accommodates the largest design and business academy in Scandinavia within the furniture, fashion and lifestyle sectors. Campus Herning offers a number of design programmes in both Danish and English and has a close cooperation with the fashion industry and the nearby.
