Europe’s Best Workplaces Are in Denmark

Almost 20% of the 100 best workplaces in Europe are located in Denmark according to a new study among 700,000 employees among 2,250 companies in 19 European countries, by Great Place to Work.

18 of Europe’s top 100 workplaces with the most content employees are located in Denmark.

Denmark is only surpassed by England and Germany, but measured per capita Denmark leads the top 100.

The result is based on statements from 700,000 employees among 2,250 companies in 19 European countries who answered questions about job satisfaction in their workplace

“Denmark offers unique work-life balance. The Danish job mentality and work culture, where employees experience a high degree of autonomy and empowerment at work, result in very responsible, conscientious employees with a high level of job satisfaction. This is moreover one of the reasons why the Danes are one of the most productive and hardworking workforces in Europe, says Claus Lønborg, CEO, Copenhagen Capacity.

Meaningful jobs and great work-life balance

The Great Place to Work study was conducted by the global analysis and advisory firm Great Place to Work.

Employees received a detailed questionnaire in which they have commented anonymously on matters such as management’s support of balance work-life, management’s ability to show recognition and sincere interest in each employee, fair promotion procedures, the feeling of making a difference and that the job is meaningful.
